Workplace Health and Safety Policy

Q One Property Services is dedicated to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all employees, NDIS participants, and individuals affected by our work activities.

Our commitment extends to the prevention of workplace injuries and illnesses, compliance with WHS legislation, health department requirements, NDIS rules and standards, and the application of best practices within the cleaning and support services industry.

Objectives and Goals:

  • Compliance: Adhering to statutory requirements, codes, standards, including ISO45001:2018, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission guidelines, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Setting Objectives: Establishing measurable objectives and targets to eliminate work-related incidents and ensure the safety of NDIS participants.
  • Roles and Responsibilities: Clearly defining roles and responsibilities for occupational health, safety, and the environment, including specific considerations for NDIS participants.

Strategies:

  • Continuous Improvement: Striving for continual improvement in the effectiveness of the Safety Management System, including aspects specific to NDIS service provision.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Using the Incident/Improvement Report system and quarterly Improvement Review Meetings to monitor progress, take preventative actions, and report any incidents as per NDIS requirements.
  • Education and Training: Providing ongoing education and training for all employees, specifically including training on NDIS policies and participant safety.
  • Consultation: Engaging in consultations with employees, NDIS participants, and other stakeholders to enhance decision-making on health and safety matters.
  • Incident Investigation: Ensuring thorough incident investigations, learning from lessons, particularly those involving NDIS participants, and implementing an emergency response program.
  • Resource Allocation: Providing adequate resources to make health, safety, and the environment integral to the organization, with additional focus on NDIS participant safety.
  • Injury Management: Ensuring effective injury management and rehabilitation for all employees, with considerations for incidents involving NDIS participants.
  • Facilities: Offering adequate facilities for the welfare of workers and accommodating the specific needs of NDIS participants.

Managers and Supervisors are responsible for implementing this policy, including NDIS-related health and safety aspects. While delegation of WHS duties is possible, ultimate responsibility cannot be abdicated.

Workers have an obligation to take reasonable care of their health and safety and that of others including NDIS participants. They must cooperate and comply with policies, procedures, and instructions, especially those related to NDIS services.

The Work, Health, and Safety Policy will be reviewed at least annually in consultation with staff and considering any changes in NDIS requirements or guidelines.
